Introduction

WHY "ANGELS ASLEEP"?

Because that's what we are, essentially!

You may or may not have heard the phrase "We are all One", or "Everything is connected", meaning everything that is, is a spark of the Divine Creator.

Take Archangels, for example. They are always, and have always been, Archangels. They have never been human. They remain closely connected to the Divine One. They are sparks / thoughts/ manifestations of the Supreme Being, as are we, but still in their pure, whole, original state.

Then there are Angels. Many remain in their spiritual state, in higher realms, however, they often interact with human beings.

Some Angels decided to take a very long journey that eventually resulted in their descent of spirit into matter, which is where we find ourselves as human beings. It's been a very long haul through the darkest, densest reality that any beings have ever traversed before. We have already begun to turn the curve that will begin the ascent back to our higher state of being, from the darkness that has been, to the light that will be. Some refer to this as the planetary Ascension into the 5th (focus/dimension/reality, or whatever you want to call it). But for millennia, we have been as Angels asleep, residing in our physical bodies, in a physical plane, sans any memory of who or what we were before we began this courageous trek into lower consciousness – all for the experience of The Divine Creator, who never stops growing, and with whom we are eternally connected.

In our current state of slumber we have become entrapped in the collective consciousness that is the creation of humanity. Here, in our physical bodies, we are under the influence of the Human Condition, an illusory state of polar emotions and sensations that are impossible to escape – that is, until we have lived a sufficient number of lifetimes to have developed self-mastery over those destructive lures that constantly attempt to seduce us and keep us reincarnating over and over again.

It is a very sad reality, this world of ours. The extreme suffering of the inhabitants of the physical plane is the source of my perpetual melancholy. My ability to feel joy was somehow diminished when it finally dawned on me, in the autumn of my life, that humanity might never succeed in reaching the advanced state of civilization that I so yearn to see – a world of universal peace, love, tolerance, and compassion – and the reason that I fear my dream will not be realized, is due to the fact that the purpose of incarnating here is to experience, fail, learn from failure, and grow. It is a very long process; one that entails hundreds or thousands of incarnations on this planet. And as long as there are "younger" souls (meaning those who have not yet reached the final stretch of their journey through matter), there will always be violence, oppression, greed, and poverty on this planet.

There is that famous quote attributed to Jesus, that goes "The poor will always be with you". Well, why is that? I surmise that if the poor will always be with us, it's because the greedy will always be with us. Which means that there will always be inexperienced experiencers on Earth.

Part 2: CLASSROOM EARTH

Imagine that the sum of a soul's incarnations in the physical realm is measured using a kindergarten through 12th grade yardstick.

Typically, "kindergarten", or a soul's first few lifetimes, is tribal in nature. This is where the soul as a human being learns to live and grow in a primal group setting. In this survival culture the souls learn basic social skills, working as a single unit. At this point the person has not developed much in the way of individuality. There are a lot of fears, as physicality is quite new to them.

In "1st through 3rd grade", the soul as a human begins to develop more of its personality and individuality. It lives simple lives, often in farming or fishing communities, and begins to sample the cornucopia of things that this fruitful planet has to offer. Everything is new in the early human soul's quest to discover itself on this beautiful, but formidable orb.

In "4th and 5th grade", the soul as a human, begins to assert itself more, and is fairly self-centered. This young soul's slogan could be "I want!". Frequently, there is little self-control as it acts impulsively, often without regard for the consequences. There is a lot of confusion as this early soul enmeshed in human form tries to find its way through trial and error. There is also, generally speaking, a fair bit of karma building up.

In "6th and 7th grade", the human bound soul is especially drawn to form associations with others of similar thought. This period eschews common sense in favor of peer-group behavior, which often bears disastrous results. Salem witch trials and Taliban suicide schools come to mind. And this is not to say that every young soul and every lifetime is fraught with acts of violence; there is a fair amount of fluctuation in this graph of ups and downs, where one may have a peaceful and successful life – perhaps as a loving mother and charitable community member – followed by a life of pillaging and plundering as a Viking warrior.

The "8th and 9th grades" are the young-adult years, in this soul-as-human analogy. This is a stage of boundless energy and a burning desire to express oneself. The world is his oyster. This soul may be an accomplished artist or musician, a great writer, or a successful entrepreneur. You will often find politicians and world leaders in this group – and because they are full of vitality and energy, they want to take the world by the horns. Sometimes they literally attempt to conquer the world! On that front, you will find pretty diverse areas of the spectrum here: from the good-hearted but impractical type (Marie Antoinette), to leaders who start out with noble intentions but ultimately succumb to the negative aspects of power (Napoleon Bonaparte), to the more extreme examples of perverse leadership that result in abject horror (Adolf Hitler). For, even though the young adult soul may attain a position of influence or power, they rarely have the maturity to use their platform for the highest good.

Somewhere around the "10th or 11th grade", the soul incarnate begins to lose steam. Having experienced just about everything that Playground Earth has to offer, and been burned countless times by painful trial and error lessons, the soul begins to withdraw from it's desire to engage in physicality. Add to that the fact that the Ego's rough edges have become more refined, and what you have is a soul who wants nothing more than to step off the proverbial hamster wheel and take a much-needed vacation. Unfortunately, that desire is best put on hold, as it is now time for the older soul to perform some social work. This soul has a heightened consciousness which cannot help but see the world as it is: a planet of suffering that is in dire need of help! At this time it is one's soul intention to make the changes that will, hopefully, leave the world in better shape after it moves on. A soul cannot ascend until it has experienced all that it has come to experience, and completed it's contract to enact social change, whether that involves animal rescue, environmental improvements, implementing peaceful changes in a political landscape, participating in groups that work to eradicate human suffering (such as sexual slavery), feeding the hungry, elevating the poor, fighting discrimination, or any other type of action that results in making a significant difference for the betterment of mankind. This is also, for many, a time to burn off residual karma, especially in the case of those who chose to "skate" through recent lifetimes, resulting in a kind of karmic pile-up at the end.

The final few lifetimes, or "12th grade" as we shall call it, continues with activities involving social change and other roles that one would expect of a mature soul. The best leaders, teachers, and way-showers are typically mature souls; Mother Theresa, for example, was exceptional! They are selfless, without ego, wise, non-judgmental, compassionate, and at peace within. They are generally happy, in fact. They will pass on their legacy and their scepter to the next oldest soul group to carry on after they have ascended to the next spiritual level.

Sometimes a soul on it's very last lifetime, with little, if any, karma remaining, chooses to enjoy a peaceful incarnation of creative expression and family contentment… a symphony conductor, a fisherman, a jazz musician, or an artist, for example (picture Bob Ross, the teacher/painter of "happy trees"). When the final life is over, the soul has the option to ascend – or to return to the Earth plane in order to assist Mankind directly. But even if it chooses to ascend, it will assist humanity from it's higher spiritual plane until it's entire greater soul group (yes, we travel in large groups) is ready to ascend to an even higher consciousness, at which point it moves away from the Human Condition, to the next level.
